Materia Medica
Dr. Mirjana Zivanov
Clinical Materia Medica grounded in the Simillimum Code and the emergence of Spiritual Quality.
This Materia Medica has emerged through many years of clinical practice, in direct encounters with patients, their symptoms, life stories, and inner conflicts. Each text presented here is the result of a living process of observation, listening, and understanding—not a theoretical compilation, but clinically experienced knowledge.
At the center of this work is not the symptom alone, nor an isolated pathology, but the inner structure of disease—the way the Vital Force expresses itself through polarities, conflicts, and recurring patterns manifested in the body, emotions, and the patient’s life. The homeopathic remedy is not viewed here as a mere substance, but as a key that opens a specific inner space of awareness and response.
A special emphasis in this Materia Medica is placed on the Remedy Code—a pair of opposing states that forms the fundamental dynamic of a given remedy. This approach arose from clinical practice and was developed over many years through the observation of a large number of cases and their evolution after the Simillimum. The Remedy Code is not a theoretical construct, but a concise expression of what, in practice, proves to be the deepest point of transformation.
In certain cases, following the successful integration of the polarities carried by the Remedy Code, a new and stable state of the Vital Force emerges in the clinical course. This state, which I refer to as Spiritual Quality, does not represent a transient improvement or an emotional experience, but a lasting change in the way a person reacts, regulates, and is present in everyday life. Spiritual Quality is recognized by long-term stability, reduced reactivity, and an inner sense of alignment, and it represents a natural continuation of the process initiated by the Simillimum.
In some cases, particularly in deep and long-standing conditions, the clinical process does not conclude solely at the individual level. After, or parallel to, the action of the Simillimum, broader layers of disease may open, encompassing familial, transgenerational, and deeper inner patterns. In such situations, the therapeutic process naturally expands into the family field (Family Circle), the unraveling of complex inner conflicts (Karmic Labyrinth), as well as themes related to ancestral heritage and transgenerational memory (Ancestors Healing). These processes do not constitute independent therapeutic methods nor a replacement for the homeopathic remedy, but rather clinical domains that become accessible in cases where illness extends beyond the individual symptom and requires a broader understanding of its origin and maintenance.
The texts are written with the intention of remaining faithful to clinical truth, even when this means departing from established descriptions or conventional frameworks. The aim here is not completeness in the sense of listing symptoms, but clarity in recognizing the essence. Each remedy is presented through what has proven, in clinical work, to be the central pillar of its action.
This Materia Medica is not a closed system. It evolves, deepens, and is continuously refined alongside clinical practice. It is intended for homeopaths who are willing to listen to the patient beyond the surface of symptoms and to follow the healing process not only through the disappearance of complaints, but through changes in patterns of reaction, perception, and being in the world.
