A shared theme is a strong fear and aversion toward disabled individuals and those with developmental disorders.

Causticum reacts with destruction fueled by ANGER (Caust) in response to injustice, similar to Crotalus horridus. However, Crotalus horridus carefully and coldly analyzes the situation before reacting, while Causticum’s reactions stem purely from emotion, often wrongly based due to a lack of complete perspective. As a result, Causticum may unjustly judge and commit wrongful actions.

Magnesium muriaticum, represented by the woodcutter, symbolizes the act of separation, cutting away, and working through emotional burdens. The woodcutter’s role is laborious but transformative, akin to splitting apart the layers of emotional suppression often seen in patients requiring this remedy. The woodcutter works to create space for light, progress, and growth, symbolizing the inner struggle to break free from emotional stagnation and reconnect with life.
Crotalus horridus, the timber rattlesnake, emerges as the natural consequence of this process. When a tree is cut, the cry “Timber!” echoes, marking a pivotal moment of release and change. The snake, hidden in the forest, represents the latent danger or awakening that follows this disruption. It is a reminder of what lies beneath — the raw, instinctual emotions, fears, and energies that surface when the old structures are removed.
Magnesium muriaticum represents a stage of emotional disconnection or unresolved grief, often tied to familial relationships. Patients feel burdened by unexpressed emotions, much like a woodcutter carrying the weight of their axe, tirelessly working to clear a path.
Crotalus horridus, on the other hand, reflects what happens when those emotions are unleashed. The raw, unfiltered energy of the rattlesnake comes to life, embodying intense emotions such as fear, anger, or even survival instincts. It is as if the cutting of the tree awakens something primal, a hidden truth that must be faced.
Both Magnesium muriaticum and and Crotalus horridus share the theme of a physical response to injustice — “to physically respond.”
They also share the theme of descending and the idea of leaving, with the key words “I’m leaving,” “I’m going” (Mag-m, Crot-h). Both remedies are prone to falls and injuries.
Difference:
Magnesium muriaticum cannot tolerate the gym, whereas Crotalus horridus loves it.
Magnesium muriaticum is of solid build, stable, while Crotalus horridus is far more sensitive to sounds and other sensory inputs.
Patient: “That day I felt an extreme ANGER (Mag-m) toward people I hadn’t seen in a long time, but I remember they were BAD (Bry) to me. For example, that guy with the motorcycle, or some boss who advised him to sue me, or some godfather’s godfather who enjoys being BAD (Bry) toward me.”
Doctor: “You felt ANGER (Mag-m)?”

Both remedies share the theme of DISCOMFORT (Thuj) and the need to leave UNPLEASANT (Thuj) situations.
Patient: “The pain was constant (Crot-h), but it was more of a DISCOMFORT (Thuj).”
Patient: “As soon as I saw the man lying on the lounger, I felt DISCOMFORT (Thuj) and that I had to (Carc) leave (Crot-h, Arum, Mag-m) immediately.”
Doctor: “Yes, your remedy likes warmth!”
Patient: “That felt EXTREMELY PLEASANT (Thuj)! I studied the WHOLE (Arn) day and didn’t even get tired!”
Patient: “It wasn’t anything drastic, but regarding those attacks (Crot-h) and everything, I can’t give you an example. i don’t know, I only know that everyone told me I was UNPLEASANT (Thuj).”

Doctor: “How did you feel at the end of the dream, when you wanted to escape?”
Patient: “Somehow IMPRISONED (Crot-h) and dissatisfied (Phos-ac) with myself because I didn’t immediately leave (Mag-m, Crot-h, Arum) in line with my feelings.”
Patient: “The following days I wrote down that I was completely exhausted (Phos-ac), impatient to talk (Phos-ac).”
Patient: “For six years, I haven’t LIKED (Phos-ac) being with most students; I don’t know why. But that day, I felt extremely (Crot-h) that I had to distance myself (Carc, Phos-ac, Crot-h) from students, even though I am one, too…”

4. Nux vomica with the Code: TENSE – RELAXED
Nux vomica patients are often extremely tense, which can lead to physical manifestations like constipation.
Example:
A Crotalus horridus patient had not had regular bowel movements for years — sometimes going up to ten days without one. After receiving Nux vomica 1M, her stool became regular and daily.
Patient: “I’ve been ambitious since I was a child and have always believed that through my own hard work, I can achieve great things. I’ve had only one desire — not to live here! That’s something that drives me through life and motivates me. I openly say that I’d love, at some point, to live in a country where people are the way I imagine, where there are rules (Crot-h, Nux-v).
I was in Germany a few months ago, and I was amazed at all the differences compared to what’s here. I’m not saying it’s fantastic or PERFECT (Carc), but I think it would be meaningful for me to live there for a while — to better understand myself. I see it as an opportunity to develop (Crot-h, Nux-v). I wouldn’t be surrounded by my parents or friends; I would go alone (Crot-h, Nux-v) to make something of myself (Crot-h, Nux-v)!”

5. Bryonia alba with the Code: GOOD – BAD
Bryonia patients oscillate between being GOOD (Bry) and feeling let down by others’ BAD (Bry) behavior.
Patient: “I was trying to be GOOD (Bry) to everyone, to be fair…”
Patient: “That day, I noticed I had less energy, and a friend gave me an electronic cigarette to try. Whenever he gets a new one, he gives it to me to try. I took a puff, and it made me feel so sick… Normally, I don’t feel BAD (Bry), but this time, it was extremely BAD (Bry).”
