Dr. Mirjana Zivanov unveils her remedy portrait of Galanthus nivalis, exposing its profound oscillation between the depths of feeling lost and the triumph of figuring it out.

This is my remedy portrait of the Galanthus nivalis.

A soul graced by Galanthus sways between the abyss of feeling lost and the salvation of figuring the way out.

Note: The Matrix Method is based on the concept of individual Codes of a person, central to life and development of that person. The Matrix method helps us recognize this Code and prescribe the Simillimum, that has the same Code as that person. In the Matrix Method the Code is the very essence of the remedy.

The Codes of the remedies used in the Matrix method were discovered by Dr. Mirjana Zivanov, using the Matrix proving. Over a decade, her team rigorously tested these findings in their daily homeopathic regimen. Consequently, Dr. Zivanov has invested a significant portion of her career—ten years out of two decades—focusing on the research and refinement of the Matrix method.

Galanthus is more often a female remedy, one that brings happiness and hope. When you encounter a rare Galanthus man, the joy is indeed immense. The person is beautiful, very chaste, and attracts the attention of the opposite sex. They are gentle, tender, and self-sacrificing. In Europe, they usually have blonde hair and blue eyes. Small children adore them.

Galanthus nivalis - the snowdrop, is a winter flower native to areas from Central Europe to the Caucasus. It heralds the arrival of spring and is therefore a symbol of hope for the future and purity. In our region, children have traditionally loved going to the woods to pick snowdrops every year in February, then gifting the small bouquets to their loved ones. This tradition is centuries old in our country and in other Central European countries.

Odysseus and the enchantress Circe

In his wanderings, as described by Homer, Odysseus arrives at the island of Aeaea, home to the enchantress Circe. Circe offers food to Odysseus’ crew, but she has mixed it with malignant drugs to make them forget their homeland. After eating, Circe waves her wand and transforms the men into pigs.

Odysseus sets out to rescue his men. As he walks through the forest, he encounters the god Hermes in the form of a young man. Hermes warns Odysseus about the danger of meeting Circe and provides him with an antidote to her poison, drawn from the earth. This antidote has a black root and a milk-like flower, called moly, and is difficult for mortals to dig up.

Figure 3 Anonymous, Illustration Galanthus nivalis0, marked as public domain, more details on Wikimedia Commons

When Circe gives Odysseus the enchanted potion, he remains unaffected. He threatens her with his sword, and she pleads for mercy, astonished that he could drink the potion without harm. After a great feast, Circe releases the men, transforming them back into human beings.

In 1981, Plaitakis and Duvoisin proposed that the plant moly is actually Galanthus nivalis, the common snowdrop. Homer's description of its location, flower color, and black root matches the snowdrop. Additionally, Galantamine, a chemical in the snowdrop bulb, acts as an anticholinesterase, counteracting the effects of tropane alkaloids like hyoscine or atropine. These alkaloids are found in plants such as Deadly Nightshade (Atropa belladonna), henbane (Hyoscyamus niger), thorn-apple (Datura stramonium), and Angel's Trumpet (Datura candida), all known to the ancient Greeks as poisonous medicinal plants that Circe could have used.

Homer’s description of moly’s effect on Odysseus may be the earliest example of using an anticholinesterase drug to counteract tropane alkaloid poisoning.

Theophrastus mentions them as growing on Mount Hynettos, near Athens in 300 BC.

Saint Francis of Assisi called the flower an emblem of hope as it bloomed at the end of winter.

Snowdrops were traditionally used in medicine to alleviate pain, especially for treating headaches. In recent years, the medicinal effects of Galantamine in treating Alzheimer's disease have been researched, and the results so far are very promising.

A Galanthus woman often has several children and, besides caring for her own, helps other women with raising their children and with household chores.

She is a woman who completely neglects herself for the sake of others. Primarily, she caters to her husband and then the entire family. She adapts to everyone. Her reasoning is down-to-earth, realistic, and rational, which is ideal for a mother who has a serious and challenging task. She often becomes very tired, and the first symptoms are severe headaches. These can last for years because she can never rest, as everything depends on her. If a divorce occurs, she initially feels completely LOST (Gala). She doesn't know what to do or how to proceed. She starts seeking help from her family, brother, sister... She works very hard physically in such situations to ensure the survival of her family. With enormous effort, diligence, and investment, she FIGURES OUT (Gala) the way to succeed (Gala) and emerges very successfully from completely IMPOSSIBLE (Plumeria) situations.

"I came to Belgrade with three children and three suitcases. My husband didn't want to help the children because he thought that by doing so, he would punish me and make me return home, but I was persistent... I worked, had the support of my family, my mother, and my brother, and I somehow made it through. I don't know, it was very hard for me (Nat-m)... At one point, when I lost my job and asked him for money, he said he had none and told me to 'FIGURE IT OUT' (Gala)!"

We see how here at the end of the sentence, with full emotional charge, she calls upon the phrase "FIGURE IT OUT," one of the opposites from her Code: LOST – FIGURED OUT.

Doctor: "But, let's say the person cannot figure it out, imagine such a situation... How does that person feel then? If they cannot figure it out... What would be the opposite of 'FIGURING IT OUT?' How does a person who cannot figure it out feel?" Matrix fishing

Patient: "Well, BAD (Bry)!"

According to the Matrix method, we know that Bryonia alba is the Precode for Galanthus nivalis.

Doctor: "How BAD (Bry)? What would be the opposite of 'I FIGURED IT OUT'? What would be the opposite if we didn't figure it out? How would we feel in that situation?" Matrix fishing

Matrix fishing is a technique in which the homeopath invokes one of the opposites from the Code of the remedy, which he or she suspects could be the patient’s Simillimum – Soul remedy. Then, the homeopath observes the patient’s reaction to see if the patient has ‘taken the bait.’

Patient: "Well, no! I had support from my brother and my mother (slowing down speech and stammering at this moment, a moment with strong emotional charge, a moment of opening up), otherwise, I would have stayed in that house, I wouldn't have had a choice."

Doctor: "And how would you feel then, if you had stayed in that house, if you hadn't FIGURED IT OUT? If you had to stay there..." Matrix fishing

Patient: "Well, BAD (Bry)."

Doctor: "BAD (Bry) how?" Matrix fishing

Patient: "I would feel that I have to (Carc) live there!"

Doctor: "And how would you feel emotionally?"

Patient: "Just that my children are alive and healthy! (Gala)"

Doctor: "But, let's go further now, to find that word... How would you feel emotionally, if you had to stay? Someone might feel sad, someone else angry..."

Patient: "BAD (Bry), believe me."

Doctor: "BAD (Bry) how? We need a deeper word!" Matrix fishing

Patient: "Well, wait! I don't know how to say..."

Long pause, the patient is thinking...

"I don't know how to say it, I feel BAD (Bry)... LOST (Gala)! I feel LOST! (Gala)!"

Suddenly, she remembered the most suitable word! She first said it quietly, and then she recognized it’s importance, so she said it loudly and quickly the second time, like a thunder... Concluding with relief: “I feel LOST!"

Here we see how, we helped the patient to slowly get deeper and deeper in her emotional sphere, until she reached her very essence, her Code, the Code of the remedy Galanthus nivalis:

LOST – FIGURED OUT

Galanthus Man

The Galanthus man has a gentler build compared to the Galanthus woman. Just as the Galanthus woman seeks an authoritative man, the Galanthus man seeks a strong and authoritative woman.

He is extremely gentle with children, cuddling them, defending them, and caring for them. Children are very important to him, and he dedicates himself fully to their upbringing. It's like a kind of pledge. Children love him very much because of his great gentleness and empathy, but they also respect him deeply. He knows how to handle children, is very fair, and with them he is always cheerful and smiling. He sees everything, notices everything, so children don’t even try to lie to him or disobey. The law of love is what governs their relationship. He is extremely hardworking, a man for whom nothing is too difficult to do, or to help others. He helps women who find themselves in trouble, who are alone, divorced... He loves animals very much and treats them the same way he treats children, with great love and dedication, and nurturing them is not a burden for him. He does all this with ease, unlike an Aurum person, who does it more out of a sense of duty, which ultimately results in exhaustion and anger. With Galanthus, there is none of that. He does not regret helping someone, there is no fatigue, no resentment for what he has done. Like an Angel on Earth.

That is why he is constantly surrounded by women: friends, aunts, sisters... Our patient was even born on the day of the The Nativity of our Most Holy Mother of God!

He is a very honest person who lives modestly and works a lot, but the feeling of wealth is always present, even in scarcity, because his spiritual energy is strong. He has a lot of love, gentleness, compassion, and everyone around him has a full heart!

He behaves well and believes in God, but doesn't like institutionalised religiosity like Lotus and Morphinum, who would wear a cross on their chest. It’s all more relaxed and natural. There is no religious fanaticism.

Although at first glance, he may appear physically weaker than other men, he is much stronger in essence because the strength from his heart surpasses everything! Cheerfulness and a strong desire for life give him indescribable endurance and the power of regeneration and renewal.

"Even though I had three heart attacks in a short period, I didn’t lose my will to live at all. On the contrary, I work with bees with my father in nature, and while I’m there, I don’t have any heart problems! The greenery, the silence, the peace, simply being in nature feels very good to me."

"During the coronary angiography, the doctors were shocked at how my heart developed collateral circulation, so even after three heart attacks in the main blood vessels of the heart, I can still do almost everything! The collateral vessels developed because I did slow down, but I never stopped as suggested... I was retired, but I kept riding my bicycle for a couple of miles every day with my dog (Gala) Cocker Spaniel and kept working with bees alongside my father..."

We see how his great love for life had indescribable power, and his heart found a way to survive by strengthening the surrounding collateral vessels.

Galanthus girl

A Galanthus girl is delicate in build, sensitive, quiet, and calm. She is beautiful and attractive to boys. Even as a little girl, she has a playmate she likes, a boy who looks out for her and takes care of her... She fits in everywhere, is accommodating, and unassertive.

Our patient is a very beautiful girl, with brown hair and blue eyes, and is extremely sensitive. Her mother brought her to us because she has not been eating since they returned from the seaside. At the seaside, she got a headache after a cold shower on the beach (Gala). The next day, she vomited and since then has stopped eating (Gala). She complains of stomach pain around her navel (Gala). Her mother explains that she has completely changed, that she is no longer as cheerful as before, but quieter (Gala). To us, she looked absent (Gala), paralyzed (Gala), staring into the distance (Gala), and she seemed somehow LOST (Gala). After the remedy, she had a dream: “We were sitting in a café and went outside. I was underwater! (Gala) I could see underwater without a mask! (Gala) The water was nice, warm, and clear! (Gala)

A cloud shaped like a King appeared in the sky. Another cloud, resembling a small machine, appeared, which my dad said shoots out stones and targets houses (Gala). In this way, it informs the inhabitants that a new King has arrived...” Her mother informed us via a text message that one day after taking the remedy, she started eating well and has been in a great mood, just like before.

 Galanthus Themes:

Theme of birth, babies and children

Galanthus is a symbol of birth, and new babies.

They have a deep affection for children, and the feeling is mutual.

Galanthus is a white flower that children love very much. They are always excited to see it bloom, as it signals the end of winter and the beginning of spring. Children enjoy picking Galanthus flowers and often present them as gifts to their loved ones. The joy and anticipation surrounding the appearance of these delicate blooms have been a cherished tradition for generations.

Patient: “Children love me very much, and I love children too!”

Patient: "A child I was babysitting, crawled under my shirt, so that I could pet him, and so that he could be my baby!"

Patient: "I don't understand those women who suffer from postpartum depression. When I gave birth to my son, I cried for an hour, not from pain, but from happiness!"

Doctor: "And that woman, whose children you take care of, told you to feel free to treat them just like your own children. She entrusted her child to you, to treat her child as you would your own. So, she probably trusts you?"

Patient: "Yes! She is five years younger than me, and somehow, I have that FREEDOM (Crot-h)! Because in that house... How can I explain, I feel like I am at home! (Gala) Somehow, I have all the FREEDOM (Crot-h) to say what I think, what is right and what is not right (Carc), but they are the parents and they should raise the child. But, I don't allow certain things (Gala), what I didn't allow my children (Gala), I don't allow him either (Gala). He can take their phone and throw it because he is spoiled! My phone, he can't, because grandma (Gala) says 'no' and that’s 'no'! I don't allow that, but when I come, he opens his arms and runs towards me! He can’t throw a phone when he is with me, but he can do something else... 'Come on, let's cook lunch with grandma (Gala), let's make what you'll eat...' Something for him to knead... That's how I did it with my own children: 'Let's clean this, let's throw out the trash...' He wants to participate in everything with me, but when mom and dad are there, he doesn't want to do anything! But I don't care, I won't say anything. I just know that when he is with me, everything is as it should be! He will have cooked organic food, he will have everything good, just like I did for my children, I do for him! There’s no difference...” (Gala)

Doctor: "How do you feel in that situation? You say you love children..."

Patient: "I feel good! How can I put it, somehow, whenever I come and see him, my heart is full! (Gala) (She gestures with both hands as if her heart is opening)

Patient: "I can only imagine how it will be when it's my real grandchild!!! That's something... I don't know..."

Doctor: "A full heart, best said!"

Patient: "Yes!!!"

A support and pillar for everyone in the family, but also for those outside it

Galanthus is a person who is always there for us, offering comfort, protection, and defence. They stand by our side in times of need, providing a sense of security and unwavering support. Whether we are facing challenges or simply need a reassuring presence, Galanthus is someone we can always rely on to uplift our spirits and shield us from harm. Their nurturing nature and steadfast loyalty make them an indispensable part of our lives.

Doctor: "Are you someone, everyone relies on in the family?"

Patient: "Yes, how can I put it, all three of my children... Even though they live separately from me... One lives with his girlfriend, the other with her boyfriend, and the youngest is here, but it's always 'Mom, mom, just give this, give that...'"

She is also a support to people she has just met...

"Yes, I just started to work for these people, strangers, and I say to my brother: 'How am I going to FIGURE IT OUT (Gala) with them there, in that foreign country? I don't even know the language!' And when I arrived, a woman told me after a week: 'I am going to Abu Dhabi and leaving you with my two-year-old child!' After a week of knowing me!! But, the feeling I had when I entered that house… That child immediately hugged my leg, a child seeing me for the first time in its life! And that woman… Her too! My brother asked her a week later: 'How do you communicate?' In that house, by the way, there's a lot of money... She said: We communicate effortlessly through our glances! And that’s it! I stayed with them for three years, and we understood each other by glances!" (Gala)

Doctor: "Yes, wonderful!"

Patient: "And that’s it! When I started to work at my previous job, at an elderly doctor’s home, after just a week or two… His wife said: 'You know, we aren't very well paid...' And he just looked at me and said: 'Come, come sit with me...' And I sat with him. He took my hand and said: 'Come on, we will get along well.' And I said: 'We will!' And truly, those are such emotions... I loved him and supported him until the last day. And when he was supposed to go receive an award, he said: 'How will I go? I can't talk, I can't stand, I'll fall there, I'll pee myself, I'll shit myself...' Excuse me... And I said: 'You can! I'll go with you, support you, cheer you on, you’ll go!' And that's how it was... And there's always that emotional...”

She gestures with her hands from her chest, near the heart, outward, symbolizing giving.

Doctor: "And you are always that supportive, protective, defending someone!"

The patient's name is Branka! (In Serbian, this name translates to 'the one who defends')

Patient: "Yes. Even now, I don't know what to tell people, because when doctor’s wife and I work, people ask: 'Are you sisters?' The two of us... But we are not sisters! That's it!"

Doctor: "You are fantastic!"

Patient: "The family I worked for a few years ago until they moved to Abu Dhabi has kept in touch with me all along. And now, this woman tells me, 'I would be the happiest if I could buy you a house next to mine so you could live close to me!' (Gala) That woman, we are friends now (Gala), they come to visit us... That child, when he came, I hadn't seen him in two years! He came and said: 'Brana, Brana!' That's what he calls me... And I said: 'Yes, Michael?' And he quietly said: 'Come!' Not wanting others to see... I said: 'What?' And he grabbed my hoodie to crawl under it like a baby, under my shirt, because he wanted to be my baby! And five years later, when he came, he crawled under my hoodie again! He crawled under so I could pet him, and so he could be my baby! (Gala) That's it!"

Doctor: "Truly incredible! Fantastic!"

Patient: "That's it, those are some..."

Doctor: "Your energy is such, your role… Children sense it and know… As do people."

Patient: "Yes, they sense it... Yes, I have always been open-handed and kind-hearted (Gala)!"

Doctor: "Yes! It is very evident and felt! Wonderful! Really, really... Thank you for sharing and describing it to us..."

Hormonal Disorders

When overworked, her health suffers, primarily her hormonal system becomes disrupted, and menstruation becomes irregular (Gala).

Patient: "My period used to be regular, but recently it started happening that I have it for six months, then not for four or five months, and then it comes back again... And now I haven't had it for three years..."

Doctor: "When you were younger, what were your periods like?"

Patient: "They were regular, heavy, and always painful!"

She is very emotional, and everything immediately affects her hormonal system.

Patient: "After each pregnancy, I ate and gained 30 kg (Gala), and then I lost 30 kg (Gala)! I have a problem with that... I used to lose 30 kg and then gain 30kg, it wasn't an issue for me... Because I love to eat! I am a foodie! (Gala)

And at 30, I already had a thyroid problem! Because my children were small, and I wanted to FIGURE OUT (Gala) everything. I have no idea... I had hyperthyroidism (Gala), which was active. I was losing weight rapidly at that time, and now it has turned into hypothyroidism (Gala), which is inactive, and that's why I gain weight and have hormonal imbalances."

Physical Strength

They are physically very strong, and even more resilient. Women are usually of a solid build, while men are of a smaller build and more graceful. Cheerfulness and a strong will for life give a Galanthus men indescribable endurance and the power of regeneration and renewal.

Galanthus woman: "I was into sports, I played handball, was a pivot! I was actively involved in handball for 17 years!"

High Sensitivity

All their senses are heightened and sharp. Nothing can escape them. They see everything, hear everything. They have a great sensitivity to cold, especially on their head...

Patient: "Since then, I simply know that I have to shower with warm water (Gala). For example, it feels good if I see that I’m about to catch a cold, I go under a hot shower (Gala, Ars) to ease it a bit... That's it..."

Doctor: "So, generally, you are sensitive to cold?"

Patient: "Yes, for example, my mother is 87 years old and she has already told me a hundred times: 'When I look at you, God, I don’t know what you are made of! So, sensitive!' She goes to the garden, puts her feet under the faucet with cold water! (Lotus) When I do that, my ovaries immediately hurt (Gala, Arg-n), I’m done! That’s why I say I’m sensitive. Now, maybe that’s because I was born at seven months and was in an incubator."

Patient: "We communicate effortlessly through our glances! And that’s it! I stayed with them for three years, and we understood each other by glances!" (Gala)

Mental Snapshots

She is a photographer!

She remembers things very well (Gala). She said she knows where everything is.

Patient: "Of course, when I saw her, that picture (Gala), it was TERRIBLE (Stram)!"

Patient: "My neighbor across the street... Her son and my son grew up together... And that woman is sick, she takes medication for her mental health. At one point, I saw myself in her, how can I put it, I saw myself and said: 'What are you doing?'"

Doctor: "That was like a mirror for you, it was a remedy at that moment!"

Patient: "Of course, when I saw her, that picture, TERRIBLE (Stram)!"

Doctor: "It makes a person aware!"

Patient: "Yes!"

Doctor: "Well done!"

Tidiness Theme

She is very tidy, she cannot tolerate dirt (Gala, Ars). When she was leaving, she picked up a piece of paper that had fallen on the stairs and handed them to us. She did it with care, with love, without reproach, with understanding.

Theme of Exhaustion and Insomnia

She feels very tired, exhausted... Everything hurts, her bones, arms, legs...

Patient: "When I have a headache, I suffer for three days if I don't take a painkiller immediately..."

"So, if I don't take a painkiller within an hour, then I have to stay in the dark, in silence, for three days without being able to lift my head (Gala)!"

"...when my head starts hurting, everyone in my house knows..."

Due to exhaustion, she can't even fall asleep in the evening...

Patient: "...as for sleeping, it's a disaster! In the morning, I fall asleep at 5:00 AM, 5:30 AM. I can't fall asleep, and the living room is dark, the phone is in the living room, I don't touch anything, I just lie down... I toss and turn all night and can't fall asleep (Gala, Ars). In the end, I get up, eat something, drink some water, and then fall asleep at 5:00 AM, 5:30 AM..."

"And why can't I? I just can't! I would love to be able to fall asleep, for example, when I get home from work. To, for example, take a half-hour nap, but I can't because if I nap, then I can't sleep all night, and that's a problem for me (Gala)!"

Headache Theme

The headache started a long time ago. The first occurred when she was at the seaside with children, and they went to the beach. She showered there with cold water. It reminds her of how her head hurts, now: "Like when cold water hits from above, on the top of the head (Gala)." And it hurts on the top of her head, and then everything in her body hurts!

The same thing happens at baptism, water is poured over the head to wash away sins, and the snowdrop symbolically represents Eve who sinned!

In Central European folklore, there is a particular story about the snowdrop blooming at the feet of Adam and Eve when they were banished from Paradise. This flower then became a symbol of comfort and a new spring of hope. It was the breath of an angel that turned snowflakes into beautiful bell-shaped flowers.

Primarily associated with Eve, and later with the Virgin Mary, the snowdrop also carries one of its old names, "Mary's Tapers."

She always feels nauseous when her head hurts, and she vomits many times.

"My head hurts, it always hurts (Gala), and then it goes on until I vomit, and get everything out of me (Gala)!"

A Galanthus girl says the same thing! How her head hurt a lot at the seaside, on the beach, after the cold shower hit her head! And it was followed by vomiting in her case as well.

Girl: "It was like nails were being driven into my head by that cold water!" (Gala)

This feeling is similar to nails being driven into a tree, causing rain to enter and create cracks in it. These cracks eventually ruin the tree, leading to it being cut down by a lumberjack. The girl's head corresponds to Bryonia, and cutting down the ruined tree to Magnesium Muriaticum, the lumberjack!

Her mother tells us: "The next day she was still vomiting, and from that day on she stopped eating. Her stomach hurt around her navel. (Gala)

Psychologically, she seemed strange (Gala), somehow absent (Gala)... She wasn't as cheerful as before (Gala)! I wondered: 'Where is my old girl?' She appeared totally LOST (Gala)! And this has been going on for the past seven days, so we came to you..."

The mother called out the word “LOST” one of the opposites of Code of the remedy Galanthus nivalis.

Interestingly, the smell of acid from vomiting, like something sour, was felt when the girl entered the office, even though she last vomited several days ago... That is the smell from the stomach... The same smell was felt when we had an older Galanthus man in the office.

The head mostly hurts from exhaustion, too much work, lack of sleep... Inhumane living conditions

"...and for those people whose household I manage, and whose businesses I run, and I take care of their child, and do all sorts of things, they are involved in the import of allopathic medicines and when my head hurts, she says to me: 'How can't you manage the headache? When my head hurts, I take Novalgetol and go to work!' I can't explain it to them, they come from a different story..."

To this, we say: 'Well, you figured it out quite well!' And only after we said the phrase “figured it out”, we realize that we invoked one of the opposites from her Soul remedy, the Code - FIGURED OUT. She led us to feel the situation as it is. We see to what extent the Code influences not only her, but everyone around her! Matrix awareness.

"... And that happens to me when I don't sleep, when I am exhausted, when we go out in the evening, when I smoke a lot, when I drink alcohol, that’s when it happens!"

The cause of the headache can be PMS and menstruation

"Seven days before my period, my back and head start to hurt..."

A cold can also trigger a headache

They are very careful not to catch a cold, especially on their head. One male Galanthus patient said that in winter, at night, he has to wear a soft scarf to prevent his head from freezing. (Gala)

A female Galanthus patient repeatedly mentioned how the cold water from the shower hitting her head comes back to her memory when she gets a headache.

"... when I get cold, it's that part behind the sinuses, then up to the top of the head..."

A male Galanthus patient always used to carry an umbrella (Gala) if there was even the slightest chance of rain, so that water wouldn't fall on his head, causing a headache and a cold.

Headache from inhaling chemicals

A male Galanthus patient was chronically poisoned (Gala) because he worked on the production and tableting of the allopathic painkiller Malofen, which initially caused him severe headaches, and later he had three consecutive heart attacks at the age of 42.

"I worked in a pharmacy where 'Malofen' tablets were manufactured, the noise from the stamping machine, intoxication, working all day as a laboratory chief..."

Headache from smells

"My head hurts from strong smells! (Gala) For example, when my brother puts on too much perfume, I immediately feel nauseous... (pointing to the stomach) And my head starts to hurt!"

Comparison with Lotus headache

For Lotus, the disorder is on a mental level, and he is more CONFUSED (Lotus) than physically pained in the head, while for Galanthus, the headache is very much on a physical level...

Galanthus prefers warm water, while Lotus prefers cold water! However, both remedies like to carry an umbrella (Gala, Lotus), if there's even the slightest hint of rain, just in case!

Backpain

They often complain of back pain in the form of sciatica because they work hard and a lot.

"Well, I got through this week, it was very hard (Nat-m), I’m all stiff, my back is stiff (Gala, Manc), so it was very hard (Nat-m)!"

A male Galanthus patient recalled how his back was stiff while he was half-bent, helping his little daughter to walk. He also mentioned how he couldn’t bend double because the hamstrings in his legs are shortened (Gala)...

Theme of Adapting to Others

"...yes, I started smoking because of my husband, which I had never done before! And although it ruined my health, well, never mind..."

"...yes, and I loved him. (Gala) I looked at him, how can I say, as everything to me, my whole world, he was my whole world! (Gala) I came into that house (Gala), I adapted to them (Gala), they shaped me! I was young, they shaped me the way they wanted (Gala, Carc)!"

"I thought that was the way it should be!" She shows with her hands in the area of her navel. In front of her, she makes a shape like a ball with her hands... She perceives herself as that ball, that they made her into something like that ball. Round, adaptable, movable...

Doctor: "Adapted! (Gala)" Matrix potentiation

Patient: "Of course, adapted." (Gala)

“We communicate effortlessly through our glances! And that’s it! I stayed with them for three years, and we understood each other by glances! (Gala)"

Cries easily, very emotional

She hides her emotions from other people, because she is the one who provides support to everyone and appears stable. But, when she is alone...

"I am very emotional! For example, I can start crying while watching a movie. (Gala) I am emotional when it comes to someone close to me (Gala), but I don’t show it much in front of others. (Gala) So, not many people know that... Otherwise, I am generally stable, strong, proper, hardworking, as they say..."

A Galanthus man never cries, he suppresses that. But in church when the music starts, he feels very emotional, his face becomes red, and a few tears fall down (Gala)! He tells his children: "You must not cry!" (Gala)

Theme of the Heart

They have lots of love, their heart chakra is very open, so fatigue or poisoning can lead them to heart disease.

"I take after my mother, we are very similar. My mother has a heart condition, she is 86 years old. She is a grandmother (Gala) who manages the household just like when we were all living at home... And she takes a handful of pills! Her heart functions at 40%-50%. She loves when we come to visit, but even when she doesn't know we're coming, she makes three pies, cooks lunch... And she raises chickens for us! She came to visit us, but now she can't wait for Friday to go back home (Gala). She loves her home (Gala)! And her yard (Gala). She has her neighbours, they drink coffee together, keep each other company... She is now more social than I am! I don't know when I last had coffee with someone, because I don't have time, as I work a lot (Gala)!"

Galanthus and Lotus both have prominent themes of love and the heart. Galanthus 's love is more rational and gentle, characterized by a calm and nurturing approach. Those who embody the spirit of Galanthus tend to show their love through thoughtful actions, support, and a steady presence. In contrast, Lotus's love is strong and irrational, marked by intense emotions and passionate expressions. The love associated with Lotus is often impulsive and fervent, creating powerful and sometimes tumultuous relationships. While Galanthus offers a serene and stable form of love, Lotus brings a fiery and dynamic energy to the heart's matters. Both forms of love are profound and meaningful, each bringing its unique strengths and challenges.

Honesty

Galanthus is an exceptionally honest person. 100% righteous, never steals, nor takes anything that belongs to someone else! They never engage in any manipulations or dishonest activities for personal gain. The daughter of a Galanthus man told us that when he took her to the doctor for a check-up as a child, he never went ahead of others (Gala), even though everyone knew him, because he was a pharmacist in their clinic. They would sit for hours, even if his daughter had a fever. He believed it was not fair to others who were also waiting. When it was their turn, the nurse would be completely shocked that he hadn’t just walked in... And this happened every time he took his children to the doctor. He is so humble (Gala) that he would not tell us this himself because he considers it normal. His daughter also said that he refused to accept an apartment from the state, at a time when they were being given away freely, even though they met all the conditions as a family of four, because they lived in a house with their great-aunts. So, they lived in two rooms, the four of them, but he did not take a free apartment from the state because he thought it was not right since they already had a house. Plus, he didn't want the great-aunts to be left alone, as they had never married, and he took care of them. Here again, we see great compassion and high moral principles. (Gala)

Role – Parent

Galanthus is indeed a good parent, along with the remedy Magnesium muriaticum, whereas Lotus and Morphinum are more like children. Galanthus symbolically represents Eve, and she is the archetype of the mother and maternal energy. The name Galanthus means Milk Flower (from Ancient Greek γάλα, (gála, "milk") + ἄνθος (ánthos, "flower")), which evokes the theme of mother and baby. They gently caress children on the head, providing comfort and hope that tomorrow will be better.

While writing this in the park, I noticed a thin, blond young man on a bench not far from me, gently and tenderly stroking his girlfriend's head. (Gala) He resembled a Galanthus person. This was yet another sign of how important the theme of caressing is in the image of this remedy.

"The child I was babysitting for a few years, came with his mother to visit me, and I hadn't seen him in two years!

Patient: "All I want is for my children to be safe and healthy!" (Gala)

They have authority, and children not only listen to them but also obey them.

Patient: “I don't allow certain things (Gala), what I didn't allow my children (Gala), I don't allow him either (Gala). He can take a phone of his parent and throw it because he is spoiled! That's how I did it with my own children: 'Let's clean this, let's throw out the trash...' He wants to participate in everything with me, but when mom and dad are there, he doesn't want to do anything!”

Authority from parents and partners

They seek authority from their parents and partners.

Patient: "When I told my mom that I was going to get a divorce, she said: 'Why after 20 years?' Because I never complained to her in my life! (Gala, Carc). I just called my brother and told him to come get me, but before that, I never said anything to anyone, for 23 years! (Gala, Carc)"

"When I left my husband, my family asked me: 'Why? Does he hit you?' I said: 'No, he doesn't.' And they said: 'So, what then? Now your children are grown.'"

“Yes, but he was not present in the home at all, in any sense. Everything was on me, from decision-making to everything that needed to be done. He would just sit and watch TV. He ignored me and didn’t communicate with me at all.”

“My neighbor across the street… Her son and my son grew up together… And that woman is sick, she takes psychiatric medication. At one point, I saw myself as her, how can I explain, I saw myself and said, ‘What are you doing?’”

Defense of abandoned women and women who are alone

A Galanthus man can stand up to protect a woman who has been abandoned by a man or can protect women who have never married and do not have children. He helps them wholeheartedly, empathizes, and listens. He strictly criticizes divorce and believes that marriage must be preserved at all costs, especially for the sake of the children...

Maintains the House, Household Chores

They are extremely attached to their home. They love it dearly and take care of it with great affection.

A Galanthus woman gladly handles all household chores, while a Galanthus man significantly contributes to everything around the house. The daughter of a Galanthus man mentions how nothing was ever too much for him. "If mom needed some groceries while cooking, he would immediately ride his bike to the store without any complaint. Or, for instance, it wouldn’t bother him at all to go to the attic in the middle of the night, if we remembered that we forgot to bring down a school apron, and we had to leave early in the morning for school. Or it was never a problem for him to get up at 5:30 AM, ride his bike to buy burek (pastry), so we would have it on the table at 6:00 AM when we woke up, as we had school at 7:00 AM. Rain or snow, he would do it despite his heart condition! He is always there to help if needed! (Gala)

In principle, he stays home (Gala, Sil), doesn't go to bars, but when he travels, he shines even more because he loves people, nature, life. On a trip, he just relaxes and breathes freely.

The house is sacred to Galanthus . They rarely leave it, only when necessary and for a short while. They may even have multiple houses (Gala, Calc-p) that they take care of.

Work, Extremely Hardworking, Like a Japanese

They take their work very seriously. They work for others as if for themselves. They can work from dawn till dusk at their own pace (Gala). People at work love them, especially women, as a Galanthus man provides help and comfort at every step. He is very popular among people.

Desire, Love Life

They have a strong will for life, mostly related to family and children, towards whom they feel a strong obligation to guide them, in terms of feeding, nurturing, and educating them. In this, they find a source of strength and inspiration. Although they can be passionate, they control it well, dedicating everything to the children and their needs and success. (Gala)

Love for Animals

They can love animals just as they love children. A Galanthus person will usually have a lot of animals in a small space. (Gala)

For instance, our Galanthus man had a cocker spaniel brought by his daughter's boyfriend, a Siamese cat brought by his wife, fish given to his daughter by a friend for her birthday, two parrots—one landed on his head in the yard, and they bought another so the first wouldn't be alone, carrier pigeons he took to competitions, and chickens that hatched chicks. When his dog (Gala) died, he barely survived, saying he didn't cry even at his father's funeral, but almost died himself when the dog passed away.

A Galanthus woman took in stray animals, keeping a dog, a cat, and three turtles in her apartment, saying she hoped the turtles would outlive her because death of an animal made her soul cry. (Gala)

A Galanthus girl mentioned wanting to get a dog... (Gala)

Another Galanthus woman mentioned having a Maltese dog (Gala), besides all her other tasks.

Galanthus loves all animals, especially dogs! Lotus also loves all animals, especially cats, but they are not so good at taking care of them and prefer to admire them from a distance.

Homesickness

Home is sacred for Galanthus . They rarely leave it, only when absolutely necessary and for short periods of time. They may have more than one house (Gala, Calc-p) that they takes care of.

In general, they stay at home (Gala, Sil).

The daughter of a Galanthus man tells how, while he was in the hospital due to a heart condition, he kept asking if everything was okay with the house and if their mother was there taking care of it.

Patent’s daughter: "She came to visit us, but now she can't wait for Friday to go back home (Gala). She loves being at her home (Gala)! In her yard (Gala)."

Doctor: “And was there something you didn't like there? Why did you want to go home from the seaside?”

Girl: “Well, I missed home...”

Doctor: “And what do you like about home? What did you miss?”

Girl: “Home!”

Comforting for Grandmas

Galanthus is also called Snowdrop, indicating it brings comfort to older women. Galanthus grows in clusters, with many other snowdrops, and similarly in life, they usually have large families. They don't like to be alone, and a single snowdrop is considered to bring death. Therefore, a bunch of snowdrops is always brought into the house, bringing luck, hope, and protection from curses and witchcraft.

Theme of death

The delicate white Galanthus flower symbolises birth, and it’s black root death. Like in Arsenicum album, white and black – life and death.

Galanthus is aware of both birth and death and copes with it through the peaceful acceptance of inevitable. This is beautifully illustrated in Paulo Coelho's "The Fifth Mountain".

In contrast Ignatia amara reacts to death with deep soul suffering, often with a lump in the throat. A priest in black represents Ignatia, while a Galanthus priest would be depicted in a white robe.

Galanthus dominant theme of children extends to this aspect as well, so it’s a big remedy for death of babies and young children.

A Galanthus person with it’s profound acceptance of death, remains steadfast and supportive until the end.

Patient: “I loved him and supported him until the last day. And when he was supposed to go receive an award, he said: 'How will I go? I can't talk, I can't stand, I'll fall there, I'll pee myself, I'll shit myself...' Excuse me... And I said: 'You can! I'll go with you, support you, cheer you on, you’ll go!' And that's how it was...”

Similar Remedies

1. Lotus with the Code: CLARITY – CONFUSION

Both remedies have a theme of water. Lotus grows from warm water created by Morphinum's tears, while Galanthus grows from the cold water of snowflakes. Galanthus is emotion in matter, while Lotus is emotion in the Astral plane!

Galanthus is sensitive to the cold and only likes warm water, while Lotus cannot stand the heat and prefers only cold water.

Galanthus loves to eat, whereas a Lotus person is picky and only eats what they like, as many foods do not agree with their stomach...

"I love to eat! (Gala)!"

Both remedies advocate for women's rights, defending women's rights. Galanthus does this from the role of a mother and wife, while Lotus views it more from a spiritual angle, from the role of a feminist or a nun.

Galanthus first submits to a man, accepts that role, and we could compare her to Eve, while Lotus does not accept submission, enters a rebellious, independent role, and her task is to fight for gender equality. She is like Lilith.

But, both long for Adam, their love!

Our divorced Galanthus patient, said at the very end, as she was already on the stairs:

"I'm going to Abu Dhabi... Maybe I'll find some Sheikh there! Oh, God forbid, that's all I need! Ha, ha..."

We see how she desires and longs for a man, how the idea of being subdued again attracts her.

Galanthus woman is physically very strong...

Lotus woman is somewhat clumsy, not into sports, more interested in spiritual topics, poetry, writing poems...

For a better understanding of the relationship between these two remedies, you can read more about the remedy Lotus at the following link:

2. Natrium muriaticum with the Code: WARM - COLD

Both remedies symbolize a gentle, caring mother who can easily be moved to tears. Both have warm hearts, are attentive, sensitive, and considerate. Both remedies like sweet foods, as sugar primarily nourishes the heart.

However, the fundamental and very important difference is that Galanthus is very sensitive to cold, and all its symptoms worsen with cold, while Nat-m is warm and cold improves its condition.

Galanthus says: "I always shower with hot water, or at least WARM!"

While Natrium muriaticum says: "I prefer to shower with COOLER water, never with WARM, let alone hot!"

3. Alumina with the Code: FULL - EMPTY

A very important moment, with a strong emotional charge, when she talks about her care for her child:

"I feel good! How can I say, somehow, whenever I come and see him, my heart feels FULL!" (She shows with both hands, as if her heart is opening).

4. Staphysagria with the Code: NOTHING - EVERYTHING

Both remedies can endure a lot, but Staphysagria is cold, restrained, and from the outside can seem selfish and emotionless, being more self-oriented. In contrast, Galanthus is warm, highly emotional, "generous," and does everything for others. However, both remedies are capable of enduring for a long time, for years... They remain silent and accumulate emotions within themselves.

Complementary Remedies

Mandragora with the Code: OBEDIENT - DISOBEDIENT

Galanthus lives the ideal of an obedient wife, who would give everything for love, sincerely and without regret for all that she has done... She would live that way for the rest of her life, regardless of the state of the household. She would be stuck in one Mandragora opposite - OBEDIENCE. However, in modern times, today, if a bad state in the household lasts too long, a state without love, she becomes very disappointed and enters the other Mandragora opposite - DISOBEDIENCE, leaving her husband because she is gripped by fear of the future. If she manages to become aware, to see her position and state, after many years of marriage, she is gripped by panic and leaves.

When in the opposite "OBEDIENCE":

"Now you have to be good, calm, for yourself and the baby... (Mandr, Gala)"

"...yes, I started smoking because of my husband (Mandr, Gala), which I never did before! And although it ruined my health, well, never mind..." (Gala)

"...I felt that way, knowing I had to get up, iron the clothes, cook lunch... (Mandr, Gala) So, there was no time to think about other things..."

When entering the opposite "DISOBEDIENCE":

"Buddy, buy your wife a baby bottle warmer! If you had to get up at night and warm the milk on the stove, I would see you!"

"I am cancelling my appointment for therapy today, I have to go to my mom's village..."

Lachesis muta with the Code: YOUTH - OLD AGE

The ex-husband of our patient is Lachesis muta. She said she fell deeply in love with him; he seduced her, and she moved into their house very YOUNG. She completely adapted to them and took on all the household responsibilities (Gala).

Patient: "How can I explain, I got married YOUNG, he is nine years older than me. I stared at him with amazement and admiration, completely captivated by him!"

"He has always been like that, but it didn't bother me when I was YOUNGER!"

"I was YOUNG, they shaped me the way I needed to be (Gala, Carc)!"

Sulphur with the Code: WAR (FIGHT) - PEACE

When you are in the role of Eve, life is a constant struggle, and in that, Sulphur can contribute a lot to this community with its physical strength, along with Galanthus 's endurance.

“He just sits and watches TV. I started to FIGHT, to secure a better future for the kids…”

“He was my best friend. Without him, all my future plans fell apart… But life goes on, I have to FIGHT…”

Precodes

Bryonia with the Code: GOOD – BAD

When they perceive the situation as BAD, and this state lasts for a long time, this feeling opens the Code of their Simillimum Galanthus nivalis, and they get stuck in the polarity LOST (Gala).

Doctor: "But, let's go further now, to find that word... How would you feel emotionally, if you had to stay? Someone might feel sad, someone else angry..."

Patient: "BAD, believe me."

Doctor: "How BAD? We need a deeper word!" Matrix fishing

Patient: "Well, wait! I don't know how to say..."

Long pause, the patient is thinking...

"I don't know how to say it, I feel BAD... LOST (Gala)! I feel LOST! (Gala)!"

Silica terra with the Code: SECURE - INSECURE

Support is very important to them, and they find it in their family.

Thus, our patient receives support from her brother, who has been her main support all her life and gives her a sense of SECURITY.

"I had the support of my brother and my mother (She slowed her speech now and stutters, a moment with strong emotional charge, a moment when she opens up to the Code of the remedy), otherwise I would have stayed in that house and had no choice."

"...it wasn't from the parents, like, if you're not well, come back home! That didn't happen! And then my brother told my mom: 'Are you out of your mind? It's more important to me that my sister is healthy! I mean, what's wrong with you?'"

Doctor: "So, your brother supported you?"

Patient: "Yes!"

Doctor: "He made things possible!"

Patient: "Yes, he is the one who pushed everything and somehow pushed, pushed, pushed, and all the pieces fell into place (Sil, Gala), and that I meet those people, those foreigners..."

Phosphorus with the Code: SOMETHING - NOTHING

Galanthus is a very humble person who, if they receive just SOMETHING, will be completely satisfied. But if they receive absolutely NOTHING, it opens the path to their remedy’s Code... In such a situation, they feel completely LOST (Gala).

We have an example of our patient whose husband gave her absolutely NOTHING—not attention, not love, not money... He just sat and watched TV. In such a situation, the Code of her remedy opens, and she gets stuck in the polarity of LOST (Gala), which is why she leaves him...

Mancinella with the Code: WONDERFUL - DISGUSTING

Mancinella, among other things, symbolizes death, so if the Precode is opened, the snowdrop can symbolize the approach of death, but only through the Precode, which is rare... This happens at the end of the life cycle. Much more often, it symbolizes a new birth.

It is possible that this is why it is called "Visibaba" in our region. The snowdrop symbolizes not only "babies," because the petals are like drops of milk (in Greek “Gala” means “Milk”), but it can also be associated with a grandma, as the flower hangs down like the head of an old woman.

Doctor: "How do you feel about the smell of garlic?"

Patient: "DISGUSTING, I feel very bad, even when I enter someone's house, it's enough just to smell it!"

Doctor: "How do you feel about all of this?"

Patient: "I feel horrible, how can I tell you, DISGUSTING, exhausted, I have no strength, I can't function (Manc), that's how I feel..."

Patient: "That used to happen to me when we, for example, organized weddings, Roma ones that lasted: Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday. We come home only on Monday... So, it lasted for four days and I didn’t sleep! There are 20 of us, my husband and I. I don't sleep, he sleeps, but I don't sleep... DISGUSTING!"

Patient: "Well, I got through this week, it was very hard (Nat-m), I’m all stiff, my back is stiff (Gala, Manc), so it was very hard (Nat-m)!"

Remedies that follow:

Arsenicum album with the Code: BURDENED - UNBURDENED

Cannot sleep, tosses and turns in bed (Ars), OVERBURDENED.

She is very tidy (Ars), she cannot tolerate dirt (Ars).

When she was leaving, she picked up a little piece of paper that had fallen on the stairs and handed it to me. She did it with care, with love, without reproach, with understanding.

Magnesium muriaticum with the Code: ANGER - PEACE

There is a theme of hard physical work at home and around the family, which indicates the remedy Magnesium muriaticum.

Also, the theme of leaving (Mag-m) the husband, the theme of the remedy Magnesium muriaticum. ANGER appeared when realizing that she would end up like her neighbor, on psychiatric medication, if she doesn't leave...

Muriaticum acidum with the Code: NEITHER ALIVE - NOR DEAD

After years of hard work, they can enter a state of Muriaticum acidum, where they lie down without energy. Such a state can manifest on a physical level in the form of TIA (transient ischemic attack) episodes. Even in middle age, they may experience TIA episodes.

Our male Galanthus patient had his first TIA attack at the age of 40, when he was working hard in a pharmacy laboratory with various toxins. Later in life, TIA episodes appeared sporadically whenever he felt extremely tired and exhausted. When lying in a TIA state, he looks as if he is NEITHER ALIVE - NOR DEAD.

Crotalus horridus with the Code: FREE - CONSTRAINED

Despite talks of gender equality, men still have significant advantages in all areas of life.

There is a constant fight for women's rights, as with Lotus, but Galanthus fights from the role of an obedient wife and mother, who is never alone, surrounded by many children and relatives. On the other hand, Lotus conducts its struggle from the role of an unusual woman, often alone, who passionately points out the injustice that inevitably exists in the world.

Doctor: “So, that woman whose children you are taking care of said that you should act as FREE as you do with your own children. She entrusted you with her child, so you could treat her child as you do with your own! That probably means she trusts you?”

Patient: “Well, yes! She is five years younger than me, and somehow I have that FREEDOM, because I am in that house… How can I tell you, I feel like I am in my own home. Somehow, I have all the FREEDOM to say what I think, to say what is right and what is not right! But still, they are the parents... I don’t allow some things... What I didn't allow my children, I don't allow him either!”

Carcinosinum with the Code: PERFECT - DISGUSTING

The theme of cleanliness is extremely emphasized, indicating the Cancer miasm.

“Somehow, I have all the freedom to say what I think, to say what is right (Carc) and what is not right (Carc)!”

"He wanted to shape (Carc) her son when he grew up! When he turned 18! To shape him (Carc), to be daddy's boy! I told him: 'Buddy, where have you been for these 18 years? I took him to football and everything!' And now he wanted to shape him (Carc), to regiment him (Carc), to have some order (Carc), but he doesn’t even have his own order (Carc)!"

"But I got married from a house of older parents. They told me: 'You have to be quiet (Carc, Gala), to respect, you know how that upbringing is... You can't say anything now, because they are older! (Carc)'"

"He would have been the happiest if I had worked in Belgrade for four or five days and then gone home for the weekend. He would have wanted me to pay for a woman to work in my home, and when I finally came home, I would have had to cook lunch, clean the house, pay the bills... So, he would have wanted me to come, work, and finance everything (Carc). "

"When I told my mom that I was going to get a divorce, she said: 'Why after 20 years?' Because I never complained to her in my life! (Gala, Carc). I just called my brother and told him to come get me, but before that, I never said anything to anyone, for 23 years! (Gala, Carc)"

Doctor: “I understand!”

"When I left my husband, my family asked me: 'Why? Does he hit you?' I said: 'Well, he doesn't hit.' And they said: 'So what then? Now your children are grown.'"

Stramonium with the Code: RESCUE - HORROR (TERRIBLE)

Doctor: “And how do you feel when feathered animals approach? What emotions arise then?”

Patient: “Fear, TERRIBLE, I am afraid, it's been like that since childhood!”

Patient: "Of course, when I saw her, that picture (Gala), it was TERRIBLE!"

Patient: "I feel HORRIBLE, how can I tell you, DISGUSTING, exhausted, I have no strength, I can't function (Manc), that's how I feel..."

Formica rufa with the Code: CERTAIN - UNCERTAIN

People often say about a Galanthus person that they are “hardworking as an ant” – a common expression in Serbian, which corresponds to the English expression “busy as a bee.”

Snowdrops have an incredible way of reproducing from the seeds that form in their drooping heads. Once the seeds dry up and drop out, they contain a lipid-rich coating that is particularly attractive to ants. The ants will take the seeds into their underground nests, feed on the lipid-rich part, and leave the rest of the seed in the nest, where it will germinate and produce a new plant. Additionally, many snowdrops reproduce by producing extra bulbs that can get washed away from the surface of the soil and develop elsewhere.

Patient: “I don't allow CERTAIN things, what I didn't allow my children (Gala), I don't allow him either (Gala). He can take a phone of his parent and throw it because he is spoiled! My phone, he can't, because grandma (Gala) says 'no' and that’s 'no'!

 Galanthus as a Karmic Remedy:

  • Fear of losing a partner, friend

  • The idea that the family must be harmonious, with no quarrels

  • When one life cycle ends, to better adapt to the new situation

  • After losing a job

  • After retirement, receiving a higher pension - favorably calculated

Patient: “The remedy obviously worked! It attracted some good vibrations, I have no idea how, but positive things happened, the uncertainty (Gala) regarding the pension was resolved. Immediately after taking the remedy, I received a decision and realized that I don't have to work to be able to live (Gala), a weight was lifted off my heart (Gala)! So, my mood changed very positively! Ha, ha, ha...”

Doctor: “We FIGURED IT OUT (Gala)!” Matrix fishing

Patient: “Yes! Nothing is LOST (Gala)!”

Symbols:

  1. Stork, a symbol of birth, babies brought into the world. Their feathers are white, with black tips on their wings and tail, just like the root of Galanthus is black, and the flower is white. In the myths and legends of many nations, children are brought into this world by storks. According to folk belief, when storks arrive, children can walk barefoot.

They remind us of childhood when we would go with our parents to 'grandma and grandpa's' in the village during the summer. Seeing the storks on the freshly harvested fields shows us that another summer is here, filled with children's mischief and adventures.

Storks bring luck, fertility, and prosperity. In European cultures, the white stork symbolizes the birth of a child, as stories tell us that storks bring babies. This belief originates from the fact that storks return to their nests after nine months.

Also, storks return in the spring, at the time of nature's awakening and renewal. There is a connection between storks and water, symbolizing female energy and is also a symbol of rebirth and renewal. Storks' care for their young in their large nests on high places symbolizes parental care. The most beautiful beliefs about storks are that they bring luck, fertility, and prosperity to families. That is why people encouraged them to build nests on the roofs of their homes, even helping in building nests, in the hope that storks would stay at their home. We saw how the woman our patient works for, wants her to stay with them at any cost. She even said she wants to buy her a house next to theirs!

The word stork in Serbian comes from the Church Slavonic word Jerodij, which originates from the Greek word Erodios, corresponding to the word Mother-Love! In Serbian, the word for stork, 'Roda,' is almost the same as the word for birth, 'Roditi'.

Storks make large, deep, and exceptionally strong nests, stronger than storms!

Just like our Galanthus patients...

The white stork is a symbol of preserved natural habitats, healthy living, soil, water, clean environment.

The most beautiful sight at the end of summer is the departure of storks from Europe to warmer regions. For children, it represents the end of summer adventures and the return to school. A stork is a friend from childhood!

  1. Eve. Snowdrops grow from Eve's tears. They belong to the daffodil family, and the etymology of this name leads us to Greek mythology where the Asphodel Meadows or Asphodel Fields (Ancient Greek: ἀσφοδελὸς λειμών, romanized: asphodelòs leimṓn) were a section of the ancient Greek underworld where the majority of ordinary souls were sent to live after death. So, Asphodel symbolizes the fall to the underworld. In Serbian, a Balkan country like Greece with many similar elements of heritage, this family of plants is called "Sunovrat," which means "fall from a great height" or "fall from grace." The name of the plant family of snowdrops, according to both of these traditions, can be associated with a fall from grace, just like Eve fell from Heaven down to Earth in the Bible.

Sliding down corresponds to the idea of the fall from Eden. Birth, as the fall of man from the Astral to our world, is a repetition of Eve's fall from Eden – as a consequence of original sin, which marks the beginning of incarnations on Earth. The water represents life and emotions.
